Idea:

Reacting to global warming is one of the biggest challenges ever: Europe will have to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
IMO and some nations have already imposed measures on the shipbuilding industry to reduce emissions, achieving important results and creating new technologies and solutions. The boating industry must begin to engage in the issue before being forced into legislation.

Why is GX green?

To protect the environment, operate with zero emissions in port and at anchor, full electric today is a must.
To allow high autonomy - as in the DNA of every explorer - we also need to use fossil energy in the cleanest way possible.
The hull lines have been developed around an extensive CFD analysis, minimizing the resistance around the explorer's field of interest.
The propulsion system is composed of two Schottel azimuth pods, with high efficiency even at low speeds. The engines are powered by a 1MWh Corvus Orca battery pack, recharged by a set of 10 65kW Capstone diesel microturbines. The micro turbines are silent, have no vibrations, the exhausts are clean compared to a traditional engine (5 times less NOx, 150 times less CO, 35 times less microparticulate, 10 times less VOCs). A trigeneration system is flanked by the turbines, producing 100kW of hot water or 188000BTu of cold air for each generator. Thanks to solar panels, an average of 20kW more are produced. A Siemens control unit ensures that energy production levels are optimized, reducing emissions by up to 40%.
